    The colourful and most celebrated in the anal of history of Igbajo Polytechnic community and the entire citizens of Igbajo land shall be long remembered for sometime to come when the 1st combined convocation and the 3rd Education Summit kick started on the 2nd Nov, 2016 and came to climax on the 11th Nov, 2016.

    Please come along with me as the week long events will be revisited by the press crew of Igbajo Polytechnic, Igbajo.

    DAY 1:

    The activity started with a press conference on the 2nd Nov, 2016 under the chairmanship of Prof. Olu Odeyemi chairman. Governing council and the programme was moderated by Chief (Hon.) Sunday Akere, Oluomo of Igbajo Land.

    The programme was attended by members of the fourth estate of the realm from print and electronic.               

    DAY 2:

    Jumat service was observed on Friday, the 4th of Nov. 2016, at the central mosque Igbajo, the Muslim and non Muslim of Igbajo community attended the special Jumat service.

    DAY 3:

    It was the time of the Christians community to attend a thanksgiving service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Igbajo that was graced by some members of Board of Trustees among whom were Chief Olajide Oyewole, Otun of Igbajo land, Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Olalekan Oso, Obaala of Igbajo land as well as the Rector of the school, Dr. Akinola Olaolu and his management team.

    DAY 4:

    Monday Nov. 6th 2016 was another memorable event which was tagged Health Day and the health personnel of the institution’s clinic provided health related services to the entire Public, which was well appreciated by those who were privileged to be at Prof. Ademola Adesina Hall the venue of the programme.

    DAY 5:

    In order to add pep and glamour to the week long events, Novelty/friendly matches were organized on Tuesday Nov. 7th 2016 between Igbajo Polytechnic and Imesi Ile Polytechnic. The friendly football competition was won by the host team by 2 goals to one.

    The visitor of the school Oba Olalekan Olufemi Ilufemiloye kick off the ball for the start of the game, he was supported by eminent personalities like Chief & Chief (Mrs) Solomon  Awomolo (SAN), Engr. Akin Rotimi and a host of others.

    DAY 6:

    Wednesday 9th Nov. 2016 witnessed another home coming of our sons and daughters from within and outside the country to attend our first convocation lecture with the theme “THE ROLE OF A COMMUNITY TERTIARY INSTITUTION, IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERIA EDUCATION AND THE COMMUNITY, THE IGBAJO POLYTECHNIC TRAIL BLAZING PROJECT”.

    The lecture was delivered by the Pioneer Governing Council Chairman of Igbajo Polytechnic Prof. Richard Olayiwola Fagbenle, although he was unavoidably absent but was ably represented by  Prof. Oyewole from the department of Mechanical Engineering University of Ibadan. The lecture was graced by some prominent sons and well wishers of the community.

    DAY 7:

    Thursday 10th November, 2016 heralded another lecture, but this time around it was on the 3rd Education Summit.

    The main speaker of the day was Prof. (Mrs.) Oluyemisi Oluremi Obilade, Vice Chancellor, TAI Solarin University of Education (TASUE), Ijebu Ode. She delivered a very powerful lecture on the topic: “Thinking Outside The Box, Exploring Some Innovative Approaches To Tertiary Education in Nigeria”. It was a well packaged and thought provoking delivery.

    The second speaker of the day was Dr. Vincent Olabisi from NITDA.

    DAY 8:

    11th November, 2016 which was the day of convocation, as well as conferment of Honorary Fellowship Awards on some notable dignitaries in the society.

    The Programme was well coordinated and well attended by prominent personalities from all walks of life. The JAMB Registrar as well ad the representative of Executive Secretary, NBTEwere also present to grace the occassion.

    The following are rhe personalities that bagged the fellowship award of the institution:

    1. HRM, Oba Adeniyi Olufemi Fashade, Owa of Igbajo and Visitor to the institution
    2. Chief Olajide Oyewole, Otun of Igbajo Land and Chairman Board of Trustees, Igbajo Polytechnic
    3. Chief Olajide Aboaba, Vice Chairman, Chairman Board of Trustees, Igbajo Polytechnic
    4. Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN
    5. Mr. Naranchai Patel
    6. Prince Engr. (Dr) Tunde Ponle
    7. Late Engr. (Mrs) Comfort O. Ponle (Posthumous)
    8. Dr. Femi Oladimeji
    9. Deacon Dotun Olaonipekun
    10. Engr. Tomiwa Oyebolu

    Students who have distinguished themselves in their academic pursuits were given prizes from various disciplines.

    The management of Igbajo Polytechnic uses this medium to appreciate the Visitor, Oba Olufemi Fashade,  Governing Council Chairman, Prof. Olu Odeyemi and other well wishers for their valued support and presence.
