Former student honours Asiwaju of Igbajo land
…Donates Solar streetlight to Igbajo Polytechnic
A former student of Igbajo Polytechnic, Evangelist Taiwo Akerele has donated and installed solar streetlight systems to Igbajo Polytechnic in honour of the Asiwaju of Igbajo land, High Chief Solomon Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) and his wife wife, Yeye Asiwaju (Mrs). Victoria Olufunmilayo Awomolo (SAN), who he described as worthy philanthropists.
Evangelist Akerele in his remarks, said: he donated the items to honour the Asiwaju of Igbajo land for the benefit of Igbajo Polytechnic Community. He commended the efforts of the highly referred chief in moving the school to greater heights.
He described the exemplary leadership of the Asiwaju Adegboyega S. Awomolo (SAN) as top notch, especially on the development of the school.
As a result of this act of resilience and concern as shown by the High Chief, it has spurred the entire Akerele Family to donate the solar streetlight as their own quota of bringing development to the Polytechnic community.
Evangelist Akerele graduated from the department of Computer Science, Igbajo Polytechnic in 2013.
While presenting the items on behalf of Evangelist Akerele to the Ag. Rector, Engr. M. A. Okandeji, in the presence of the Registrar, Mrs. Bukola F Odetola and the Ag. Bursar, Mr Taiwo E. Aina, Chief Akerele, Logun Lejoka of Igbajo in company of the Iyalode of Igbajo land, Chief Mrs. Adebimpe Adebowale said the man vowed that what Asiwaju has been doing in Igbajo Polytechnic right from when the institution was established is highly commendable.
Accepting the Solar streetlight on behalf of the Polytechnic Community, the Acting Rector, Engr. Okandeji commended the vision of Evangelist Akerele in honouring the BOT Chair of the Polytechnic, encouraged other students and alumni to emulate the kind gesture of Evangelist Akerele in giving back to the institution that made them.
